Monday monthly giveaway (hockey week edition)

Did I say this was Hockey Week, or what? You didn’t think I’d stray from our theme so soon, did you?

016

This month’s giveaway is all hockey…or at least really, really close…including:

  a hockey t-shirt

a hockey (or rather sports-related) mug that reads: Sports are nature’s way of saying: “Which way to the emergency room?

&

a Divine fruit & nut dark chocolate bar

To enter, all you have to do is the usual:   post a comment. (U.S. residents only, please, although as traffic picks up, this may change. )  A little anecdote about how much you love hockey—or better yet, how much you love or are loving KNOCK ME FOR A LOOP —wouldn’t hurt, but I promise not to be too biased on that score.

Also as usual, the winner will be announced…later.  Normally I’d do this on a Sunday, but since this coming Sunday is Valentine’s Day, I may postpone a bit.  OR…I might end up tacking the winning announcement at the end of another of this week’s hockey-related posts.  Guess you’ll just have to hang around to see what happens, huh?

Cool gift. I love hockey even though it’s been fifteen years since our team won the Stanley Cup. Like Zack, our goalie is hot.

  2. Laura J. says:

As if we would ever go anywhere else?!?!?!!!

We used to have a “professional” hockey team in Louisville, but they left (by professional I mean a farm team for the NHL). Sad. very, very, sad.

And now for a public service announcement……

    Donate Blood. Play Hockey.

And you all know I can’t post without saying this….I Zack!

Morning Heidi, WOO HOO I spent the weekend reading KMFAL and I gotta say I love that Zack too, he is HOT HOT HOT.. Loved the book, loved the dedications. It was GREAT !!!Love hockey too.. I’ve only seen a couple games live but when they fly into the plastic surrounding the rink you jump up cause you think they are coming into the seats that’s how hard they hit…I think Carrie Underwood’s fiance Mike is hot and he was what I pictured Zack to look like as I read the book.. Good Job Heidi, guess this is why you are my favorite author…

  4. Jen E says:

I don’t watch much sports, my husband isn’t into them either….but I am loving the book. I am at the part when Grace tells the girls about “The Kiss” I will finish tonight. I am so rooting for Zack.

Hey Heidi, great prize for this Monday. To be perfectly honest, I don’t watch Hockey. The one time I did see a game there was much fighting involved, which was awesome. I got such an adrenaline rush, but after the fight ended I lost interest.

Now, Knock Me, on the other hand, is a wonderful read. It is my fave of the trio. I made an emotional connection with Zack and Grace, which is a huge plus for you as a writer. I sometimes forgot that I was reading a book, I was so immersed in that world you created. You don’t have to count me in for the contest okay. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated the work you did, and what a great book Knock Me was.

    Peace and love,
    Paula R.

  8. Heidi says:

I know it makes me a bad person, but I really do love it when fights break out on the ice. Not big, bloody battles, but a little scuffle now & again is so much fun!

Laura~ I’ve got another one: Support your local dentist—play hockey!

Paula~ You’re so sweet, thank you! I have to admit that I’m not sure I can pick a fave of the three…I loved them all just way too much. But Zack & Grace will always hold a very special place in my heart, that’s for sure.

So is it just me, or is the countdown clock missing from everyone else’s screen, too? And I can’t redo just I also can’t see ‘em at the site where I get ‘em.

  9. I love hockey, I was watching the U.S. team play a practice game, getting ready for the Olympic’s. They looked pretty good. I love to watch the pro’s play, too. I don’t get to see many games for here in fla. they don’t have a team amymore but I do watch on Espn. My brothers all play hockey and my nephew is on his college team in Wisconsin. I haven’t gotten your book yet but I know I’lll love it for I’ve read all your other books. Hope to win, carole

  10. Debra Guyette says:

I used to love to go to hockey games but then the team moved and no more hockey. Bummer

  11. Dee says:

It’s been a bit since my last hockey game, but I do enjoy watching it live and on TV.

  12. I love The Cutting Edge. It’s a great movie, hockey or not. And, the hero’s a hottie. Slap Shot was a movie I watched as a teen. Thanks for the memory.

    Happy Hockey Season!

    Michelle
