and the winners are…

Happy sunday Pictures, Images and PhotosHappy Sunday, everyone!

Big stuff to share & announce today, & I know you’re probably all waiting with bated breath, given the fun we had in The Dungeon this past week.

First, we have a winner for the “A Few of My Favorite Things” birthday giveaway.  That would be this :

100_0367

  Hollie!!!

Congratulations, Hollie!  You know the drill—contact me with your mailing information & I’ll get your prizes out to you as soon as I can.  (It won’t be easy to part with them, though, because as I’ve mentioned before, these are some of my favorite things! )

Photobucket

Second, we also have a winner for the Animal Friends Book Bonanza Fundraiser.

Dee!!!

Congratulations, Dee!  Please contact me with your mailing (&/or shipping—I’m not sure yet how I’ll be sending your prize LOL) information so I can get your gigantic box of 30 books to you.

Thank you to Dee & everyone who sent donations to help the Animal Friends of Elk & Cameron Counties.

I am thrilled to report that we raised $145.00…& I fully intend to add a check of my own to help round that out to an even larger, even more helpful number.

Truly, thank you SOOOOO much. You can’t know how proud I am of everyone who contributed, & how happy it makes me to know that we’ll be providing such love & care to some very needy homeless kitties. At this time of year, especially, the money will be put to very good use!

Thank You Pictures, Images and Photos

P.S.  Remember that Mindy Klasky will be with us tomorrow for the first of three visits this month!  It’s going to be fun, so you definitely don’t want to miss it.

Hollie here (just ignore the pimp hat icon–it’s not Huggy Bear) I would like for you to send our wonderful Laura J the bottle of the Smirnoff Ice Green Apple. She is just terrific and she I being the very nice Hollie, would like to share that with her.

  3. Dee says:

I often tell my little Margie that adopting her was the best $69 I ever spent. She then headbutts me.

  4. Jen E says:

Congrats to Dee and Hollie! It was a fun week.

  5. Hollie says:

WOW!!!what a way to start the week!!

Good morning, everyone! And congratulations to our giveaway/fundraiser winners!

If you haven’t already, be sure to drop by MLY, where I also made a couple of prize winner announcements. http://www.heidibetts.com/MustLoveYarn/ I don’t want anyone to miss their chance at collecting their goodies.

  7. Pamela Cayne says:

Congrats to Dee and Hollie–I don’t know which one of you I’m more jealous of! :witchhap

Hope everybody’s having a great weekend and a wonderful Sunday! We had a date night last night and watched The Ugly Truth–great movie! Wish I’d written it!

  8. Dee says:

I’ve been meaning to see that movie, Pam.

  9. Maisey says:

    Heidi,

Do you have to keep making me cry with Gage and Jenna? I mean seriously. I know I’m a hormonal wreck and all, but just pile on the emotion why doncha?

Wanted to finish SO BAD last night. Almost done…

  10. Heidi says:

Oh, I want to see that movie, too! ‘Course, there are about a zillion movies I’ve been wanting to see, but that one does look good.

Also just saw preview for a Sarah Jessica Parker/Hugh Grant one where they have to go into WitSec…from NYC to wilds of Montana. Looks hilarious!

Awww, I’m sorry, Maisey. I can’t believe you’re on LOVES ME already…didn’t you just start TANGLED? And at least your enjoying Gage & Jenna makes up for the truly hideous review I just noticed for their story at Amazon. It’s so much better when a reader “gets it” than when they so obviously do not.

  11. Heidi says:

P.S. If anyone feels inclined, a few new 5-star reviews of LOVES ME would help to bury the snotty one. *hint hint*

  12. Maisey says:

I’m a fast reader. :-) A Presents or Desire is like a one sit read for me. I prefer to read books that way. I mean, you don’t pause a movie in the middle right?

I am ALMOST don’t with Knot, as my kindle says I’m at 85%.

I think people who don’t get it are missing the tone of the book completely. One of my friends in my crit group read knot and it’s been her favorite one so far, so lots of people like and get it.

And a five star review?? I think I could arrange that. Not to brag, but my reviews are usually in the top rated spot.

  13. Maisey says:

    Consider yourself five starred.

  14. Laura J. says:

Heidi you must watch The Ugly Truth. It’s a he said/she said kind of story, much like Tangled (except there was no naked knitting) and you should see it if for nothing else

    two words….

    GERARD BUTLER.

and OMG–the dinner scene!!! I hurt from laughing after watching that one.

    Congrats to Hollie and Dee!!!

(Sorry Hollie–I don’t know who snuck in here and tried to pretend they were me–must have been my evil twin)

  15. Dee says:

I left my first Amazon review ever…

  16. Danielle says:

Congrats Hollie and Dee! Ooohh…I wanted to tell you! One of our reviewers from CTR is from Australia and she emailed us to say that her favorite chocolate dessert Tim Tams is now available at Target in the U.S. So if anyone is addicted or wanted to try them, there you go! LOL. I have never had them myself but I heard they are delicious!

Heidi…obviously the reader didn’t know what they were talking about. But unfortunately you have people who will either love your novels or they won’t. All I can say is…

  17. Maisey says:

Yep. all kinds of tim tams at Target! My friend in Aus has told me many times I need to try them.

  18. Heidi says:

You guys are fabu—I love them! Thank you so much. (Take that, Little Miss 1-star. ) (And, actually, it wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t tank the overall rating. )

Laura~ Can you imagine if they turned TANGLED into a film with Gerry at the lead…& in the naked knitting scene?

Danielle~ I don’t know if I’d actually heard Tim Tams were available at Target now, but I have been hearing a lot about them lately. Unfortunately, I think I’m a freak of nature or something, because even tho folks *rave* about them, the one time I tried Tim Tams, I didn’t like them much at all. Of course, maybe I was coming down with some dread disease & should give them another shot to be really, really sure.

  19. Maisey says:

Booooo to the one star lady!!

  20. Laura J. says:

If Gerry plays Dylan then I want to be Ronnie!!!!!!!

(I just realized I didn’t put him on my top 10 list from the post the other day, oh well I’m sure I can squeeze him in there somewhere)

  21. Dee says:

That is why I can never have a top list…tried to do a top 10 hockey player list and it blew up to a 100

  22. Danielle says:

    Heidi,
I have never had Tim Tams so I wouldn’t know. Everyone has a difference of opinion when it comes to food lol. I hate cheese…you should see the looks I get! LOL. I even eat homemade pizza and lasagna without cheese. On the plus side of that, it means less calories…if you don’t think about how many is in the pasta and the hamburger meat lol.
