Happy Columbus Day, everyone!
Let’s celebrate, Dungeon-style, with a bit of snarky Columbus Day humor.

Happy Columbus Day! Haven’t had this dayoff in years.
These are great!!! Thanks for the Monday laughs.
I had actually forgotten it was Columbus Day until they were talking about no mail, no banks, no government offices open today.
Love the third and fourth ones…..reminds of that Eddie Izzard bit where he says “Do they have a flag?”
Kids are off from school today so I’m thinking of taking them to see Toy Story in 3D just to kill some time. We had library programs scheduled but they had to close because of needing emergency roofing done today because of a storm Friday. I’ve gone from free entertainment and the ability to browse while the kids make crafts and meet bats to having to shell out $30 between admission for 3 and popcorn et al.
Happy CC day all….Just got back from Pa. where I spent a long weekend with Mom who celebrated her 88th Birthday. That’s pretty good since she literaly died 2 times right after her 80th Birthday. She got a defibulator then and is doing good. I put her picture in the local paper and she had tons of phone calls and songs played on the local country station. We went out to eat every nite with the Brothers and Sisters who live there and had a great weekend. So I am back to work BOO and trying to decide what to wear for Halloween as we are allowed to dress up for the office and I am not into that particular holiday and have no imagination,,, Any ideas on an easy fun costume anyone???????????
Not sure how our there your office is, but a friend of mine who was stumped one year wore royal blue leggings and a blue shirt and used a pair of blue satin pumps leftover from some bridesmaid gown. She wore a blue knit cap which she sewed a piece of white yarn onto.
When asked, she said she was Picasso’s Blue Period.
Happy Columbus Day.
Happy Columbus Day everybody! Heidi, these are funny. I almost forgot what day it was. Working in a boarding school really causes me to forget many of the Monday holidays. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful start to their week.
Peace and love,
Paula R.
Happy Monday, all. Isn’t it nice to have a Monday holiday when you can pretend it’s just another Sunday? In my case, I’m pretending it’s a second Sunday so I can try to catch up on everything I didn’t get done during the first one.
Glad you’re enjoying the funnies. I may not be smart, I may not be quick, but I *do* know how to provide a good chuckle when the occasion warrants.
Barb~ I hear you on the costume thing. I actually adore Halloween & would love to dress up in extravagant costumes…but I can never quite get my act together enough to pull it off. So why not get yourself a set of horns a la Mistress Heidi & got as Barb’s evil twin, Babs? Or get one of those orange t-shirts that says, “This is my costume.”
Whatever you come up with, I’m sure it will be great.
One year for the trick or treaters, I put on one of my hockey jerseys and a white blond wig and went as a trophy wife.
The most memorable costumes were the hula girl in second grade [mind you I had no sweater on in between houses and it was easily in the low 30's]; the french maid in 5th or 6th grade; the devil woman for the 7th grade dance [and almost 10 years later while working in retail] and at the dance my pitchfork was used by the chaperons.
You may still have some time to pull this off Barb, you can always go as a One Night Stand.
Seriously, I saw a guy dressed like this. He had it set up where he was poking his head through a box made to look like a bedroom side table. It had a photo frame on it and maybe some other trinket like things and his head was the lamp with a shade on it.
Love the funnies! And, I’m hoping this means I’ve won the devil horns for the second day in a row. What to do with them? Hmm… If I collect a few, does their power increase?
You have, Pam—congrats! I don’t know about power increasing…maybe, since it’s naughty, evil power.
But then, it’s the same set of horns being passed around, so that may mean you just hand off your saved-up powers to the next person, I don’t know.
