there's a hole in my ear where my earring should be
LOL I've lost earrings before, but I can't ever remember it coming as such a surprise before. :-P Because I tend to have a lot of trouble with my piercings, I try to keep posts in my ears at all times. But just yesterday, I happened to reach up & discover that one of them was missing. Very weird. I didn't feel it come loose & I didn't hear anything ping to the floor, the way I usually do.
So now I guess I shouldn't vacuum for a while--yeah, like there was a big risk of that to begin with LOL--until I either find the darn thing or decide it's gone with the wind. And even though I really liked these earrings...they were tiny little sea turtles...I can always pick up another pair at Wal-Mart. It's not like they were valuable or family heirlooms. Of course, if a cat swallows it, then I'll certainly be in trouble.
In other news, I've been biking again. The Sears repairman came on Friday, & a miracle occurred...he actually had a replacement pedal in his van. I couldn't believe it. Even when he went out to get it & said he thought he had one, but it might not work, I was certain it wouldn't work. I mean, when have I ever been that lucky? The answer, apparently, is Friday. *g* He put the new pedal on & the bike is good as new. (Knock on wood.) I keep having this panicked sensation that I can feel the pedal coming loose again, but so far, it seems to be holding. Yay!
This repairman was smart, too. He said he's going to order a couple of extra pedals & have them sent to me. Then I can hang on to them, & the next time one of my pedals flies off, all I have to do is have someone come out & put a new one on without waiting the extra time for parts to arrive & all that. Very bright. :-) Of course, what do you want to bet the next thing that goes wrong will have nothing to do with the pedals? LOL
That's about all going on here. The weather is getting cold again after a very brief warm-up early last week, & we've gotten some snow & ice. But since I'm staying inside to write, I really don't care. :-D
