I was mobbed!
We've established that I've been running around like a crazy person this month, right?
Well, while I was out & about yesterday, I happened to stop in at one of the local Goodwill stores. I was just browsing around, minding my own business when a woman came up behind me & said, "May I have your autograph?"
At first, I thought she might be talking to somone else. My second thought was that it was someone I knew, & she was joking around. But when I turned, I didn't recognize her. And she was completely serious about the autograph. LOL Turns out, she'd recognized me--how scary is that?--& loves my books. Even though I was still a little stunned, we ended up having a really nice conversation. She just had a sheet of paper for me to sign, so I signed a bookmark for her instead.
But it doesn't end there.
While we were talking, another woman came up. She apparently recognized me, too, & also wanted a signed bookmark.
It was the oddest thing, I swear. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before. Most times, even if I tell people my name & what I write, they still don't have a clue. :-p This was the complete opposite. And my picture isn't even in the back of my books anymore. LOL
So that was the highlight of my day yesterday. Maybe there's something to this leaving the house business, after all. *g*
