call National Geographic, my house is turning into Wild Kingdom
Seriously, the is one of the most bizarre weeks I've ever lived through, at least where animals are concerned.First there was the skunk, right? Haven't seen him again, but he was definitely here the one night.
Then the puppies, brought home just to remind me of how little work cats are. :-)
And now...you'll never believe it...a bright yellow parakeet has started visiting my bird feeders. It's the most beautiful thing, but it looks really out of place amongst all the brown & gray sparrows & mourning doves (& sometimes a chippy or two).
I don't know if it got loose from its cage or if someone got tired of it & set it free--not a good idea, for the record, but I know it happens. A friend who rehabilitates wildlife & works with birds a lot said it should be okay on its own, which is a good thing since it won't let me get anywhere near it. :-)
But I swear, my house & yard are starting to look like some crazy Discovery Channel special...or an impromptu animal shelter. LOL
