sometimes plotting sucks

There, I said it. And it's true.

For the last two days, I've been wracking my brain to think of one tiny extra plot point that I can use for my next story. The plotting of the actual storyline went well, & I really think I'm going to love the characters & book once I start writing. I even got the synopsis done, but it's a little short, which is why I feel like I need something else. (If the synopsis is too short, then I could end up with a manuscript that's too short, & that leads to panic attacks & brain spasms. I'd just as soon avoid those, if at all possible. :-p)

I've come up with a couple of ideas, but they're either too similar to something that already happens in the story or feel sort of "disconnected" from the rest of the plot. Of course, as soon as I post this note, I'll think of something--which is why I'm doing it. LOL

On the up side, I got another great review for SEVEN-YEAR SEDUCTION. It won't be posted on their website for a few more days, but Patti Fischer of Romance Reviews Today said:

"Heidi Betts is quickly becoming a fan favorite for Silhouette Desire, and SEVEN-YEAR SEDUCTION demonstrates why. Don't miss this heart-warming tale of long ago lovers reunited."

Yay! I'm so excited about the reception Connor & Beth seem to be getting so far. The next test--& probably the most important one--will be to see what readers think of their story.

Back me up here, people. When you finally get the chance to read SEVEN-YEAR SEDUCTION, tell me it's good or I could become even more neurotic than I already am. And nobody wants that, believe me :-P
