post office or bust

I am still working to polish up one of my manuscripts before getting it in the mail to my agent. It's driving me crazy, because it should have been done long before now. But, as usual, life intrudes. And intrudes, & intrudes, & intrudes.

But today is the day. I will finish proofing this last book if it kills me. (Only 4 chapters to go, thank goodness!) Then tonight or tomorrow, I will print it out, pack it up, & take it to the post office. What a sigh of relief that will be, to finally have it out of the way. Of course, I then get to start worrying about what my agent's reaction will be, but at least I'll have a few stress-free days before that becomes an issue.

I also have to start getting ready for a booksigning on Saturday (October 22, 2005). I'll be at Waldenbooks in the DuBois Mall, DuBois, PA, from 12-2pm. WHEN THE LIGHTS GO DOWN will be the featured book, of course, but I'm sure there will also be copies of my other titles available--the Desires, at least.

For anyone who's local & can drop by, I'd love to see you! We'll also be holding a drawing each hour--one at 1pm & one at 2pm. The prizes aren't huge, but they're fun, & customers get one entry per purchase. You don't even have to be present to win; as long as you leave your name & phone number, the store will contact, & you can come back to collect your prize later. :-)

All right, enough lollygagging...back to work!
