I've been hearing some interesting market news lately that I thought I would share...for those of you whom may be writers yourselves...
*www.WriterUniv.com is offering a "Seven Secrets of Romantic Suspense" class November 1-30 with bestselling author Lisa Gardner. (I love her books, btw; she's fabulous!) Registration is $25 & more information is available at their website.

*Warner Books will be launching a new imprint in early 2007 called Solana, which will feature six English-language books a year aimed at Hispanic and Latina women.

*This is more of a through-the-grapevine thing, so I can't guarantee its accuracy. I did hear it from my editor, but that still doesn't mean I'm getting the details right. :-p Anyway, it looks like Silhouette Desire covers will be getting a minor overhaul, starting in January. Don't expect anything drastic, but back in July, they began to go in a new, more mainstream direction--WHEN THE LIGHTS GO DOWN was one of them :-)--& now the line is apparently going back to a more traditional "series" look. They will be doing a couple of unique and interesting things, but I guess we won't be seeing as much of the wildly different fonts we've come to expect. (You know, how they were starting to use certain fonts for certain authors. I actually just got my first "special font" this month for WHEN THE LIGHTS GO DOWN. Guess that won't happen again. :-)) But, frankly, I've always thought Desire had some of the best covers going, so I'll be happy with whatever they decide.
