Whew, I'm finally finished with MR. AND MISTRESS, epilogue & all.
This is my least favorite part of the whole writing process, simply because I'm not good at sitting still that long without some sort of background noise to distract me. But I can't have the television or radio on when I'm proofing a story or I might as well not be reading it at all.
It's such a relief to have the book done & know it will be in the mail by the end of the week. This definitely calls for a celebration, as the completion of every novel does. I don't know when or how yet, but believe me, I'll think of something. :-D
Now the hard part begins. I'll take a day or two off to veg & let my mind go back to the "clean slate" stage. Probably watch some DVDs or read a bit in an attempt to clear my head of the details of M&M. Then I'll sit down with the entire manuscript & read it thru from the beginning, revising & polishing as I go.
