I'm sitting here, minding my own business, revising & polishing the ms. I just finished, when I get an e-mail from my editor. (Okay, so I had to actually log on & check my mailbox for that to happen, but it beats going cross-eyed from proofing ms. pages.) Anyway, she says we can't use After the Wedding... as the title for the February book now because there's another book with "wedding" in the title the same month that she'd forgotten about.Well, pooh. I liked that title. And I really liked the ellipses. What do you think my chances are of getting another title with ellipses at the end? Zip, that's what. Talk about depressing. I'd already gone in & added the title to the header of every chapter, too. And on my Print & Go Booklist for the website...& on the disk...& in my diary...& I told all my friends... There--that's some overuse of ellipses; maybe I can get them out of my system. :-)
But now we're back to square one as far as titles are concerned. I'm hoping some words or phrases will jump out at me while I'm polishing the ms., but so far I haven't spotted anything.
